Welcome to High School Religion

As I grow in my journey of faith and education, it is my call from Christ to bring your children on the journey with me. It is the family’s responsibility to raise the child in the faith, and I am here to help in that endeavor. The natural beauty of God, revealed in written language, the order of math and science, and the lessons of history, are all taught with the first lesson in mind – the source and summit of our mission as Catholics – Christ, the Eucharist. Through God’s divine aid, I aim to draw your children closer to their callings as they learn of the world He’s created, and the beautiful life He has destined for them.

This is my 13th year as a Catholic educator for Muskegon Catholic. My undergraduate degree is from Michigan State University, and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading is from Marygrove College of Detroit.  I was the high school youth minister for St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Grace for one year, and have given several presentations to youth around the area during youth group retreats, focusing on Theology of the Body.

This blog site is not regularly updated.  My email address is kwelch@muskegoncatholic.org, I am in room 266, at phone number 231-755-2201 ext 3660.

In Christ’s Peace,

Katie

Katie – you are such an inspiration to ALL – children and adults alike. It is an absolute blessing and honor to send my babies into your loving arms each day to learn and grow! Thank you so much and can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
